A Casa Amarela, luxury apartments in Pinheiro de Coja | Tabua | Central Portugal

From summer 2020 we would like to welcome our guests to our completely renovated farmhouse in Pinheiro de Coja, in the Green Heart of Portugal.

Pinheiro de Coja is a small village with 150 inhabitants. The larger town is 4 KM away coja, where various shops and restaurants can be found and it has a square where several cafes are located. It is pleasantly busy here when the weather is nice.

The accommodation has 3 luxury residences, two 3-room apartments and a studio. All equipped with a luxurious bathroom and a private terrace. The apartments come with a fully equipped kitchen. One apartment even has an enclosed garden and is located on the mountains.

We have a spacious, beautifully landscaped garden with a heated swimming pool (10×5 meters), swing, sandpit, petanque court and various seating areas. Next to the accommodation is a public playground and a football field, where villagers can regularly be found. The garden has a wide range of fruit trees and shrubs where fresh fruit can be found all year round. From the garden you can walk straight into the forest and you can wander for hours without meeting anyone.

Socializing is possible in the spacious bar with large terrace. The bar is large enough to host a true party, or presentations.

The bar has a toy library, library and a wide range of DVDs. Feel free to take a selection of these with you to your stay. Adjacent to the bar is the room with the stone oven. Children are very welcome during the school holidays, outside this period only in consultation.

Location & surroundings

A Casa Amarela is located in Central Portugal and is therefore an excellent base for excursions. The area offers many opportunities for sports enthusiasts (think of hiking, biking, golf or water sports activities), but also for people who want to completely relax. Motorcyclists are also well catered for, it is nice to drive on the various winding roads and a place to store the motorcycle safely and dry.

Both skiing and a walk on the beach in one day? That is possible, both the sea and the ski area are an hour’s drive away.

The place coimbra (which is home to one of the oldest universities in the world), is well worth a visit. Take a stroll in the old city center, take a boat trip on the Mondego River or go shopping in one of the modern shopping centers.

Central Portugal is not called the Green Heart for nothing and has several nature reserves. The most famous is the Serra de Estrela with the highest mountain on the mainland (2,000 meters). You can even ski here during the winter months.

The Serra de Açor has several picturesque slate villages, including Píodão and hiking areas that lead you over wooden bridges and past waterfalls. A fun and special day trip is to Fraga da Pena, the waterfalls at Benfeita. Here you can walk all the way up to the origin of the falls in the protected nature reserve. With a breathtaking view of course!

Of course there is much more to do. Do you want to know what else there is to experience? Then come to the bar or talk to us and we will gladly tell you what there is to do while enjoying ‘uma bica’ (Portuguese espresso). Tailored to your wishes.
